Default Street Price On Good LSA Motor?

Gentlemen,

What are good used LSA's trading for private party-to-private party right now? Interested in some recent sale numbers from buyers or sellers on motors that included the blower/lid assembly. I'm seeing a lot of motors listed for sale within a few grand of the $11,xxx that the crate engine lists for, interested in some actual sold numbers. Much appreciated!

Hmmmm. Cool username. Ha Ha.

May want to look into it, but I believe you have to trim the underside of the hood for it to fit, or change to a different hood.
I wouldn't consider a "used" LSA unless it was cheap enough to buy pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets, etc. and still be ahead of a NEW crate engine price wise.

Good luck.

Haha, great name you have there yourself sir!

I have a 3" cowl on the car now, so hood clearance shouldn't be and issue. From ebay and some wreckers selling LSA's for $9-10k minimum I would tend to agree with you that that's not a value over a brand new crate. If the private party price was closer to $6-7k then it would be a harder choice. Than you for the reply!
