Default Yellowish build up around valley cover

Hello all,

Recently transplanted a freshly built 427 in to my car.

There is a yellowish build up around the top of the front seat on the driver side. Just below the intake and seems to be a yellow build up of small sludge just by the coolant tubing.

Any relation to crankcase pressure issues? Car is running a breather and a pcv setup making around 600hp

Any ideas?

Nope, it was green. I believe "Peak" from AUtozone. No Dexcool.

Is it possible that there is too much crank pressure, causing oil to leak out of the front main seal, mixing with leaking coolant, and causing goop?

Front seal does not have coolant and oil. The one place coolant and oil are close are the head gaskets and the power steering cooler if you have one.

Is it anywhere else? it kinda looks like one of the stop leak products.. (That came in the system originally on some cars.)

Looks to me like the crossover tube has a leak and it's dripping there.

Looks like a mixture of green and dexcool leaking from the steam tube.

Don't rule out rodents dragging a grilled cheese into the engine bay either.

Seriously, looks like dried "coolant" to me, green or red, it will oxidize, corrode and change colors over time.

Hello All,

Thank you to everyone who responded and gave input, I always appreciate it.

This coming weekend, I will be taking apart the coolant gaskets and replacing them with new ones, as I suspect they are leaking at the gasket. I shared limited information with the original post. The Passenger side (which wasn't included in the pictures as part of the original post) was far more telling once it started leaking around the gasket very slowly.

Will replace the gaskets, and report back.

A little off-subject, but at the moment, I'm dealing with bigger issues. The engine manufacturer (very notable and reputable company, I'll give them that credit) are currently blaming me for issues I'm running in to with the engine, placing the blame on my break-in procedure (aka most probably avoiding any kind of warranty work) - not in any shape or form related to this very minor and slow coolant leak, which by the way seems to no longer be leaking, odd...

Wish me luck.

Thanks all,
Andy
