Default helpppppppppppppp. damage lifter bore . can i get it resleeved :

have had this block for months and never noticed that piece of the lifters bore was broken off. my question is can this broken piece be built back up and either honed or re-sleeved to save this engine. block is and aluminum 6.2L this is the only defect on the block, i have heard of it being done but not sure on this one being that is is a clean break

Sleeving (you only RE-sleeve something that's been previously sleeved...) should save it, unless there are other issues with this block.

They could bush the bore if needed but I don't see why they couldn't clean it up though. Looks like it's aluminum, they should be able to weld and re machine it.

old reason im still holding on to this block is because how cheap i got it and the frist shop i went to straight told me nothing could be done. so instead i just put it in my shed and forgot about it until today and it hit me like a ton of bricks so i googled to see if sleeving a lifter bore was possbile and i read many stories of it being done

Step one- Get it repaired
Step two- Build a badass engine
Step three- Post machine shop name here
Step four - Take vehicle with badass engine to above-mentioned machine shop and point out how full of **** they are. AND that their name is mud on the whole internet.

I had two or three lifter bores drilled and bushed on my engine.

Could you guys list any places that do the sleeves? Closer to Baltimore MD the better.
