it is a speed master water pump. I hate it . Constantly leaking. I’m gonna get something different. The intake manifold is an ict billet. Same as a Holley sniper.

Motor makes way more psi on compression gauge then last motor. I’m seeing 250-260 psi.

gonna dyno tomorrow morning. Then a lot of work next week on the rear of the car. New fuel cell and anti roll bar install. Plus floor mounted pedals.

Im hoping for 600, but we will see. Honestly as long as it runs good and stays together i really dont care. I just want to focus on getting it down the track. Car only weighs 2400 lbs so if i can get it to hook it should be fast.

Holley made a very wise move and captured some of the finest tuning talent there is to design and support their systems. Without a doubt in my opinion they are the tuning industry leader for all out performance right now because of it. I'm no expert tuner by any stretch but with a tuning suite like HP you can plug in and tune any OEM vehicle and thats where they shine. Anyways good luck on the dyno, great build!

Well....

I had a really BAD day on the dyno. Started off great, car making great power. Made 585whp after a few runs. Started working on the tune and all of a sudden. BOOOOM followed by a giant fire. Luckily my friend was quick with a fire extinguisher and got it out before the car burned down. No signs of problems. No drop in oil pressure. Nothing. 6000rpms when it let go.

Same cylinder as the last 2 problems. Maybe something was wrong with the block? not getting enough oil to that part of the engine? not sure.

I feel completely devastated. Time to drink some bourbon.

Good news is the head wasnt struck and the piston is stuck halfway down the bore.

Gonna finish taring it down tomorrow.

Time to start looking for a block.

Oh man sorry to hear that really is *****. One of those very unfortunate things that happens to all of us now and then so I and most everyone else whos been at this a while can surely relate to how lousy this feels. I know that doesnt make you feel better right now, but your in one piece so its only time and some coin your out which really is what matters because you can build another one.

Hope the next build runs a good long while

I recently popped a sleeve in a ls2 block by dropping an unseen nut into a cylinder during an intake swap. New Ls2 and ls3 Darton dry ductile iron sleeves are cheep right now on ebay. There newer interlocking stuff is expensive. If you have a good installer nearby it might be a great cheep way to go if the rest of the block is good. Best of luck down the road.
Andy.

With the big cam and sheet metal intake I expected the power to carry a little further. Maybe the heads are too small? Or needs a different cam? Guess I’m gonna put it back together and see what happens. If the cam is toast I’m wondering what I should get

so judging by the heat in the number one rod it was starved for oil before it let go. what the heck? why do i keep having oiling issues with cylinder one? block issue? any ideas?

Did you pressurize your oil through the system(block gallery) when filling your oil? When I see 40 PSI in the on position I spin mine with the starter a couple of times too while the pan fills up.
Crap nice pic's I think you might have made allot more power. I bet that rod was getting hot and bleu at 5700 RPM. Was that your only pull?
