That's absolutely sucks! Sorry that misfortune stuck.
Glad you are OK and the car survived.

Crap nice pic's I think you might have made allot more power. I bet that rod was getting hot and bleu at 5700 RPM. Was that your only pull?
Oil sytem was primed on both motors. I used king bearings on the new one and clevites in the old one. Crank was new both times. Engine never lost oil pressure either time. It is almost like the number one rod journal isnt getting oil?

What do the rest of the rod bearings look like? How bad are the main bearings?

There’s nothing really crazy about this combo that would present higher risk of spinning the rod bearings, so going to a turbo might yield the same results if you don’t figure out what is causing ths.

rest of the bearings are perfect. No indication of oil starvation. Only the one bad rod journal

Any chance that there was a blockage in the oil passages within the crank? Whats left of that #1 bearing?

it’s possible, but it was a new crank and the last one did the same thing. I haven’t been able to locAte the bearing. I think it is in a million pieces

I’d say there was a good chance you would have reached 600rwhp after you sorted everything out. Man, that a tough break.

Did you prime until you got oil out of all the pushrods/rockers? It takes a while to do so and you must turn the crank a few times so all the PR/rockers get oil. Just trying to understand what happened. Sorry to hear.

sucks to hear....keep moving forward. BTW I had a poorly machined block and hole wasn't machined properly all the way down therefore the rod and bearing took most of the abuse.....

i wonder if the oil holes int that journal were clogged. thats verry weird that its only on that one cylinder. Maybe weak oil pump? it def wasn't getting oil to those rod bearings

You hurt #1 journal on two different engines? Theres no way this is coincidence, there must be something unwell with your oil supply. Pan config, pick up tube, O ring not true? Lets break the supply system down and see whats going on. Pics and parts of oil system for starters would help
