Gen V Revised Timing Chain Tensioner, Use for Gen IV?

Default Gen V Revised Timing Chain Tensioner, Use for Gen IV?

Anybody notice the Gen V timing chain tensioner appears to have revised material on the spring/slack side? The black poly is typically not as brittle as the white nylon. Thinking about this for my Gen IV LS3 build. Bottom pic in this link:

Here it is. Just need to figure out what the hole in the center is for? The revised material even says Cloyes right on it, and it is a GM part number.

Just go with the tried and true LS2 Chain Damper...no parts to fail...used it many times and never had an issue...12588670
