Default High mileage lq4 cam and lifters stuck

guys I bought a high mileage lq4 out of the junkyard.

every single lifter is stuck. They move freely but won’t come out the top. Fine I thought in I would remove the cam and push them out the bottom.

cam moves freely a few turns then gets stuck. Cam will not come out of the block. I tried taking the rear cover off and tapping the cam out with no success.

any ideas ? Do you think the cam is seized to the cam bearings ?

Soak lifters in atf or diesel for a few days. It should help loosen them up. If lifters want move upward they will hang cam in block. Dont knock it out till u get lifters removed! A cam bearing might be spun as well

Are you trying to pull them put by hand or using a tool? I have a very long pair of needle nose pliers and the they usually pop right out. Just be careful not to mar them if you plan on reusing them. A little heat from a propane torch or heat gun might help also. As stated above don't try to pull the cam until you get the lifters out of the way first.
