....I think you'll wish it was bigger later on, but you can install that for the cost of fluids and gaskets
Exactly my quandary. Also I have trouble relating the LLSR numbers to specs for a typical hydraulic roller. At .050" lift I would think the LLSR 'magic' has already taken place but that's not what I've read. Seems like I recall something like 4 deg. difference so a 236 LLSR acts like a 232 hyd roller. Does that sound right?

I use 5 degrees at 050, so your 236 will be a 231. The way I try to explain it is a 236/240 LLSR will behave more like a 231/235 after it warms up, but it will outrun the same engine with a hydraulic 231/235. The advantage to LLSR is in valve control and elimination of pumping delays. The valve follows the cam so much more perfectly.
If your 236/240 is a but much, then I would go with the 232/236-115+3 below. That will greatly improve driveability and keep the same basic powerband you have now (what RPMs you make peak Tq and HP). I would even keep the lift up around .650. Solids let you run faster ramp rates like that. That cam will basically feel like a 227/231, or close to a Titan 4. Should be even smoother since the engine is larger.
