The biggest DBC that I could find is the 109mm that I have linked above, but it will require an adapter from modern airflow dynamics to work. Option A = That 109 throttlebody is around $800 and modern airflow wants $300 to machine an adapter for it, so $1200 total. Option B = The Holley 105mm is a little over $500 and I can port the intake opening myself. I'm thinking the 105 is the way to go for me given the price difference.

So I really think that you're going to want to move up to a big CID intake someday, in which case I'd suggest saving your money and using your existing TB for now. With the CID you'll want a big 4 barrel accufab 6500 or similar. Would really suck to buy a big dollar round TB to turn around and need to buy a 4 barrel one later.

Performance difference between a 102, 105 or 109...I'm going to call very minimal for the expense.

You're getting me thinking on this. I'm not too familiar with the 4 hole throttlebody. I've had a few people suggest a 4500 would be plenty big enough but I'm not really sure. Would you go with the cid 4.0 or 4.5 on this 468, remembering im on Genx ls3 heads?

I would talk to at least Eric about that. The 4.0 probably matches the heads the best based on CSA, and the 4.5 might be a better fit for the cubes. I don’t think you can ever go wrong with the 4.0.

4500 flange means a dominator flange vs 4150 Holley street flange.

The accufab has multiple sizes, the 6500 being a big guy. There are quite a few 4 hole TB manufacturers too I honesty don’t know what’s best.

Hell if I know Chad. I'm an old school carb/sbc guy. This is my first race car with fuel injection or an LS for that matter. I've been running with a velocity stack on the front of the throttlebody, a 8" to 5" stack that connects to the throttlebody with a 5" to 4.5" silicon tube. This set up took a 10th off my truck's time.

Spanks is right. A CID(best) or Edel Super Victor(ported) would pick up a lot on that combo w/ a throttle body on top. Those intakes are magic on LS3/LS7 combo's running big inch or lots of rpm.

I'm kinda with the others here. Easy to spend your money vs mine, but by the time you get to that kind of money to make a throttle upgrade, putting it toward the CID and a 4150, might be well worth it. You could in the interim run the holley. Port the IAC passage if you do to stock GM LS1 TB specs.

Maybe I'm wrong but I'm thinking this 468 will run pretty good with my Genx LS3 heads and LOD intake

This setting out and not racing is killing me and HPR says late September before my 468 is ready. I called several local machine shops to see if anyone wanted to machine me a block to put my 447 rotating assembly in so I can get racing again, but they all say 6 to 8 weeks turnaround. Hell I would almost buy another big cubic inch short-block from somewhere else if they could get it to me real quick like

It is hard AF to get parts during this toilet paper famine. Same is true for most shops.

Well I've had a new development. I bought a block and found a local quality machine shop to put my 447 back together quickly. The 468 will go on my engine stand as the backup motor, so I can take my time with it

I think so too. Making a few changes when the 447 goes back in: 105 t-body to replace 102, 2" headers to replace the 1 7/8", 1.80 power glide to replace the 1.98 one, 4.30 gears to replace 4.56.

My bet is the 2 inch headers and gear make you go faster. Without the bumper stand. Which was awesome.

I'm hoping so brother. I've also got 4.10's I can drop back to if needed.

Ditto this. You will make more power with the header upgrade and likely go faster from the other changes. Win-win!

After buying the new 468 short block and putting the old 447 back together, I can't afford to switch the top end over to LS7 right now so I'm thinking about sending my genx 255 heads to Advanced Inductions,TEA, TSP, or Mamo for a port which I can afford. I know not ideal but trying to make due with what I have on hand for now and I think a good port on these heads will pick me up across the board. Thoughts, advice, reccomendations?
