Troy,
Really sorry to hear about all the carnage.
A couple thoughts.

YOU went 9.95!! You reached your Goal
You had a 1.29 60' !! Incredible
You Have an ICONIC Launch Picture/Avatar

A lot of members/racers have spent more and have much less to show for it.

My .02 put the racing on the back burner for a while, Take your Wife on a nice trip.
(When possible under the current conditions)
Come back down the road and reevaluate racing in 6 months.

You have a lot to be Proud of and have learned a Ton along the way.
Good Luck
Dan

It's a shame to hear what happened.
That truck must have come down real hard.
Take a break, make love, and come back to it with a fresh and relaxed mind.
Nothing to worry.
It's only tin and can be fixed.

Guys, I really appreciate everyone's support and positive words. I'm man enough to say that I blame no one for this damage except myself. It had never popped a wheelie more than a foot or so, and thus I didn't expect it to do this, so I made the mistake of letting out of it. In hindsight I should have stayed in it and grabbed 2nd and let her come down nice and easy.

The good news is the bride said that I will not quit racing, so the new transmission was ordered today with a 1.80 gear to replace the current 1.98 one. A new short block will be ordered tomorrow. We will drop the rear gear from 4.56 to 4.30, lower the ladder bars 1 hole, and install Viking shocks to help with the launch. The new goal is 9.60's by season's end

Probably good you are getting a new short block, but do you know for sure that the innards of this one are history?
Just curious...
BTW glad your other half is on board with rebuilding... likely was deathly afraid you'd be loitering around the house in a purple funk if not building the racer... lol

The innards are fine, the block crack is a hairline. I will pick up another block later on and build a backup engine.
The bride said if I wasn't racing, I would work 90 hours a week and do nothing else.....she's right...lol

Good to hear it man! Carry on....
On edit... maybe invest in a retro-rocket to blast downward upon reentry from those monumental wheelies...

The orders from headquarters have been issued. There will be more racing for you after all. Good to hear she’s on board. She sounds a lot like mine...

LOL......In the 7500 to 8k range, just really depends on where it peaks at on the dyno.

Damn, that's over 5500fpm for the piston speed.
I hope it's all good
