I will take a look at the shocks. I know a lot of guys love 1/8 mile racing but i hate it, just doesn't get my adrenaline pumping like 1/4 mile. I also won't use a transbrake or a power adder. I know I'm old but i enjoy doing it the old way.....lol
We don't care for the eighth mile either. But most of the events are eighth mile anymore. If you don't care about that then it doesn't matter. The stuff you have going has nothing to do with a trans brake or power adder. HP is HP no matter how you make it. Obviously you are hitting the tires just fine. You just need to control the front end rising. Since you said it is a little too high of rpm I would definitely drop the rear gear to the 4:30's, you may have to go more. It all hinges on your target rpm going through the traps. It will help with the wheelies and you will benefit from more mph. Where if you changed first in the trans, you would only benefit the launch and nothing in high gear. The only reason it would not is if you were at the point of Max HP where it wouldn't pull it to get to your target RPM. Then you go back to the rear gear where it will and then go to a first gear change if you need to for the rise. But since you don't seem to be spinning out of the hole, I would do anything I could to keep the front down without changing that first gear if your not spinning. You definitely can change your rpm going thru the 1/4 traps with the torque converter also. When we went from a 5000 stall to a 4500 stall it dropped our trap rpm from 7200 to 6800 at 900hp (700 motor 200 spray) in the 1/4 just as an example. Best part was we didn't lose any trap speed or 60 either. That allowed us to really crank up the HP. More Hp the more the converter will stall. Putting us right back at our target rpm. Sorry for the long explanation, the point is, we didn't have to change the gear. I can't remember what your converter is off hand but that would benefit you most if you could get away with a converter change.
Not trying to tell you what to do at all. Anything I say is always just a suggestion nothing more. Best of Luck to You Big Daddy. Looks like you have done one hell of a good job so far. Nice to see you going to the track for your results too.
Just noticed in your avatar you have a 6000 converter. Depending on how much rpm you need to drop it might work to drop it to 5500. Just a thought.
I appreciate all the suggestions . I'm gonna fix the damage, change the gear and the ladder bar height since neither will cost me anything Then make a run to see what it's doing before changing anything else.
Well I got asked today to represent a local well known speed shop in the 1/4 mile at LS Fest in September. They paid my registration fee which was cool, then I called to get a hotel room. It was $700 friggin' dollars for 3 nights!!! That price just set my pacemaker off and I don't know how long it will take me to recover......bahahaha

Awesome man! Yikes on the $700 room though. Those places gouge folks for the big events because they know they can. This makes me want to go to LSFest even more now.

I was thinking about going as well but now that's just robbery

Just gotta take a break for awhile. Walk away n revisit later on with alil less hatred and more enthusiasm. No shame in that. That was an expensive 60ft! No doubt it happens. Good luck when you make your come back!
Damn man that totally sucks. Sorry to hear this. Keep your chin up man. Big endings will equal bigger beginnings. Hopefully the internals on everything are okay and you can transfer your parts to a new block and trans case.
