I was over here on Duty with 94z and read this bull...
Let's get this straight dude...I don't bag no one's ****...I bag out the BS crappy plastic intake sold ported or however you want to call it.. I know this for fact that if I purchased a head and then Buy a piece of BS that hamper's or henders what seen yeah I'm bagging on the BS plastic intake. I was just reading the other day about a Mamo'fied MSD cathedral intake that flows 290 cfm ... Now let me do some basic as math... How much did I chop my head off 😂
do the math.. runner needs area. Let's not even talk Ls7 or Ls3. So if I'm bagging I'm bagging a intake. Added there ain't Nothing new being done in terms of hp or ET with any head or porter.. do the math I Dare u. Gonna tell me about some trash plastic

How many times do we have to tell you???
We all know the plastic intakes don't flow the full cfm of the head.
Hardly any intakes too.
You have packaging to consider and also that we are not building flat out race cars here.
Those big *** intakes you keep mentioning don't fit and even if they did, the engine would drive like a dog down low and in the mid range which would make for a **** street car.
Using your logic, we should use a head cylinder that flows less than what we have to match the intake.
Ain't going to happen...

So I'm not bagging a build but a intake..

What you spend money on, I've already asked about it....Y cause I'm not rich nor stupid to rely on what's being told or sold and buying twice isn't a option ...So, skip that go to guys who make HP in there sleep. Who cut no corners and cutting ones throat isn't part of going the extra mile. Get out that BS sandlot.. dude. 370 -290 = how much lost?

Here something for you ...instead of Hoping or wishing, try making some calls or use your own imagination with someone who does what your asking or thinking...hell I've made heads cheaper than you can buy OTB. Your mind frame Stuck on someone building u a better intake or happy with a Restrictor plate intake. I'm not taking loses on what I love.. and that's cylinder heads. If packaging was a problem ... I'd figure it out best to Believe that. They don't make it...they don't need to I'll figure out Who to get with and get it done. Batting 1000% on any Crazy thought I've came up with..Bortous u seen and read a thought I had on me making a intake.. I don't limit my thoughts on getting past a henderance or Restrictor plate. I didn't like a lifter? Call made, lifter was made.. don't tell me what can't be done..lil buddy.

Smokey has a point sometimes. But man you just fail to realize that the vette/fbody which is a lot of LS builds, we can't fit the tall intakes easily. Fbody needs cutting the cowl for the no compromise intakes. Mamo knows this so offers what he can as the best intake available to him to fit customers cars that don't want to cut the cowl and/or want to keep the flat hood. He makes some money on it? Duh. That's business. Many people are happy to pay the $. I tell you for a fact if I lived in USA and was paying USA dollars without crazy shipping/taxes on top, some of these hot rod parts would seem very decently priced to me.

I actually agree with you somewhat on the intakes and I think i'm probably going to do a single plane intake on my 6.0/ls7 heads engine because if I hand over $ for an intake that flows more than the stock LS7 that i bought for chump change I want no compromises.

But what you are doing is groundhog day man. Let it go and worry about your own sh*t. I'm looking forward to seeing Darth's results. I think the Mamo ported MSD can do better than we might think as the mid range torque can make up for some high end HP loss. Will it be an all out CID intake, 8k rpm effort. Maybe not but not everyone wants that in a street car or to cut their cowl to make it work. If you can't understand that simple fact then there's just no helping you.

Smokey, I dont want to insult you at all, but it almost looks like the Van Halen jokes got misinterpreted? Lazer made the OU812 reference, which was a Van Halen album. But it was after lead singer David lee Roth was gone, and Sammy Hagar was the singer. That is who the picture is. Sammy Hagar, lead singer of Van Halen. We were literally making fun of my pushrod length matching the name of the Van Halen album because my engine ate a 8.120 pushrod. OU812.

Then with the pic of Sammy Hagar, he had a song before he joined Van Halen called I Cabt Drive 55. And I cant because my engine are a pushrod. So that was the meaning of my reply.

Darth, I think it's because of the comment I made about Chevelle being on the same stuff as Smokey.
It's either that or when GTasma commented on what I wrote.
Regardless, it doesn't matter.
The same thing with the BS plastic intakes just comes up.

Bort, its the 28th, what up with yo ride my dude? Finaly got all my stuff back from powder coating...this next week trying to slam everything back together. Plug n play at this point. I really wanna fire my car off b4 hyuandai starts showing up with 600hp from the factory.

Darth ... I'm not hurt by nothing on this forum. Now I will say this. Keep me out of the BS. Most of the guys I Don't like 1st off. Then a MF'er wants to play with me not finishing my engine and I have the $. White boy jokes and thinking I'm stupid not able to read between the lines. Then B tries to justify the BS with me bagging on someone's ****. Yeah I said it, Tony Ain't Doing nothing IN the LS world that haven't been done and the factory style plastic intake sold as is or ported is a piece of ... Keep me out the BS. I love Hood BS not the picket fence life style with all the comical little side remarks.. I mess with good and bad folks who run in and ask no questions...I've changed some but don't get the BS twisted. Keep my name out the BS.

So Darth, I bought those 2" headers last night and on my way back ,I decided to stop at the shop we built and dyno tuned my motor at. He was setting his stocker motor up on the dyno and we were talking about header size and he said I wish I had some 2" tube headers to test with. I said you are in luck, I just picked up a set and they are in the back of my car😁.
I left them with him for the sake of science and will pick them up next week when I come back home off the boat.

his are custom 1-3/4stepped to-1-7/8" with a 4" collector. We shall see how these stack up

I will disagree with your assessment of Mamo products. You said yourself nobody else had a 265 VC port flowing 410+. I hear you on the plastic intake but do not confuse the cathedral version flow at 330 with the ls7 version flow. For the stock form factor, I think his **** is top shelf.

Think about this too -- he has never once stepped in here to defend himself. So the discussion has been very one sided. His intake has several motors hitting 800 at the crank. That means it has to be flowing 380 minimum.

How do you work out that mamos ported LS7 msd flows 380cfm?
Is there some formula?

General rule of thumb. Port Flow in CFM x 2.1 is the max power the port will support. So if the mamo intake is supporting 800 HP, it would have to flow 380 through each runner. but since you never really max it out, it has to be higher than that. Only way you'll max it out is if the engine is far larger than the induction system.
