Surprisingly the cylinder wall only has just a couple of places I can barley feel with my fingernail, might be ok with just a quick hone.
I was thinking the DOD lifter failed but it appears to be fine and pushrod/cam was fine.
Seems like the rocker arm just came apart getting off the tip of the valve stem, breaking the spring, and causing the valve to drop?
I'll bet the spring broke first allowing the rocker to get out of alingment and allowing the valve to drop. Do those rockers have the trunion upgrade? What springs? What engine RPM at failure? Were the springs checked for proper installed height? Coil bind? Just a few things that popped into my head. The rockers hardley ever fail except with some trunion bearing replacement parts then they generally just make alot of noise and scatter little bearings through out your engine
