What's interesting is the T&D's on my dad's big block have pressurized oil feeding the rocker trunion through the pushrod cup. These don't have any oiling ports. I bet if it had better oiling the needle bearings would be fine.
The one i know of that had it happen very early on with super low mileage. Seems to be more instantaneous than self declaring, but if you are going to be checking lash a lot, your choice!

Only took 6 years, but we made some noise yesterday! I'll make a dyno results thread. Don't mind the smoke - leaking valvecover after adjusting the valves.
