Stroker piston location

Im curious what other people’s piston location is at tdc compared to there deck height on ls stroker engines. What I’ve researched stock pistons stick out of the hole about .007-.008. Is your piston sticking out of the hole or is it in the hole a couple of thousands on your stroker engine?? I asked because mine is in the hole .008 with a brand new blue printed ls2 block, 4” crank and 6.125 rod. Compression height of the piston is 1.115

That's perfectly fine. Adjust your head gasket thickness to get the quench where you want it. Generally when I do a build, I don't like the pistons sticking out of the hole.

That’s what the guy who’s helping me assemble the shortblock said that he likes the piston in the hole for a performance engine. He also said he wants my quench to be .048 but I thought that was a little loose from what I’ve read. Hes worked for pat musi for years and for jesel valvetrain

403 stroker with 11.44:1 if I do use a .040 compressed gasket. Trickflow 235 heads that are milled to 64cc handported and blended with nitrous in mind on the exhaust ports. Jesel adjustable rockers and Johnson tie bar axle oiling lifters. Cam I have for it right now is 239/243 114+2. May end up going a little bigger but not sure yet. Fast 92/92 that is ported. 4l80 trans and Dana 60 with 3.73s. Don’t have a converter yet since I’m on the fence with the cam
