Gen IV Block DOD/AFM Delete-What Lifter Boxes To Use?
I've got a gen IV block that I'm building right now and am having some trouble figuring out which lifter boxes to use. I cleaned and degreased the factory Gen IV (DOD/AFM) lifter boxes but then find that they won't hold the standard Gen III lifters in all positions... Apparently the boxes are made differently on DOD/AFM motors to account for those lifters with the big spring. So, then I scrounged a set of GEN III lifter boxes and they too will not work due to the fact that there is a rib cast into the block the prevents them from fitting down into the block. I know someone here has figured this out.. Can anyone recommend me a good set of lifter boxes that will hold GEN III lifters (all 16), in a Gen IV block?

There should be no difference between Gen III or IV lifters. That is never a consideration when buying them. IE: LS7 lifters fit in ALL LS engines. Also, no difference when buying non-DOD/AFM lifter trays. New ones fit all LS engines

Lifter BOXES... Not lifters... I was able to purchase new lifter boxes from my local XL Parts house and they are the new design boxes that have the void made into them for the rib in the case... Its resolved at this time.

I bow down at your feet you LS Gods! I tremble in your presence.. Thank you for fixing my horrible mistake of calling them boxes, instead of TRAYS! Jesus Christ is turning over in his grave. Maybe I should be lashed to a pole and beaten for my tyranny. I am happy that you guys looked down from your high thrones and offered enlightenment to a mere peasant such as myself.
