That’s a pretty small platform going through the air. I wouldn’t consider an S10 to be like a brick…especially if it’s lowered at all.
What kind of power numbers is it making? Throw up a graph…

Chassis dyno are good for tuning and that's about it. The numbers aren't anywhere near accurate, especially with a 8" , 6000 rpm stall, and heavy 29.5 drag radials. Plus numbers vary from dyno to dyno, and operator to operator. The only numbers that matter to me are 60', 1/8 mile et, and 1/4 mile et. I got 9.90 on a complete new set up and new tires. It will get faster.

What fuel are you running?
I just noticed the "13.5 compression" so I'm guessing its not pump gas?

What gear? Those 29.5" tires are probably not doing you any favors.

Lol. Nobody’s gonna laugh at the numbers man. You are acting like you’re hiding them for some reason? I don care if it made 400…I just wanna see the power curve. Your in the 9’s so it’s obviously making some steam. Glad to see you back on here btw…

Appreciate it brother. To be completely honest, I don't even have the graph anymore. I looked at it and through it in the trash. I can tell you it peaked at 6900. When the truck still had the 447 with 4.56 gears, it ran 9.95 with me shifting at 8k and crossing at 8k. With the 468 and 4.11 gears, it went 9.90 with me shifting at 7500 and crossing at 7500. I'm happy, it's a little faster without working this motor near as hard. Im done fooling with motors, stalls, and transmissions for a while so next on the agenda will be focusing on cutting weight. It has a fiberglass seat, and hood, strange brakes, and that's about it. So I'll be stripping the carpet, headliner, heater core, speakers, sound deadner. Will also replace the front and rear bumpers with fiberglass. Anything else I can get to with my plasma cutter, cutoff wheel, or hole saw is coming out!

You'll be swapping to 3.90's before long this thing is going to want to trap over 140. Grats on getting back out there! We had a bunch of parts failures last season including losing our motor and hope to be at the track finally in 2 weeks after missing most of our season already.

Just wanted to mention I run a 850 lift cam. I run an s10 also but less heads (mine flow 400 at 800) and CI. It's a 434. It runs 9.35s and 5.90 in the 1/8. 144 mph. If you ever wanna go faster I think a little more cam might help.

Appreciate the advice, how much does your dime weigh?. This was the one and only 1/4 mile pass I've made with the new set up so far as we discovered the intake gaskets aren't sealing between the heads and the CID intake, so my A/F is way off. We have a few sets ordered of varying thickness. I'm hoping to have this problem fixed shortly and hopefully be able to post some better numbers. Also need to work on the suspension a little more and shed some weight.

I think I am at 3200 with me in it ready to race. I also had a fitment issue with the CID intake. But I had the heads cut down a fair amount . I ended up getting the intake cut down by .050 to get it to fit right, then I port matched. I went the caltracs , mono leafs and sliders for the rear. It never has traction issues even with radials.

Yours was cut .050, met another cut .085, another fella running a .045 gasket, and one more running a .030. I'm trying my 3rd set of gaskets tomorrow and if it doesn't seal, I'm replacing it with something else.

I've just about had all I can take of this God forsaken CID intake. Can't get it to seal for ****! I'm thinking about a Holley high ram with a 4500 lid. Anyone have any experience with that setup and power expectations?

Ahem! Feed that beast and cam accordingly. What your gunna wanna do is shoot an email over to Eric Roycroft. Him n I were discussing these 468s in passing recently. He s got some interesting thoughts and its defly worth your time to hopefully have a discussion with him.
