Default The must haves?

I have an ls2, tsp 402 stroker, tsp heads cam and all the other main parts. But what little extra things should you get? I’m talking about the metal barbel thing and all those that people seem to not talk that much about.

I always replace the cam retainer plate to ensure the used plates orange gasket isn't squished flat and dump oil pressure.

have a good motor guy check the line bore.
balance the rotating assembly.
Line boring can make a nice moor spin even better. Especially if your block is not "perfectly" centered.
A really precision balance can make a motor gain power well especially at the top end.

As far as pieces-
a new oil pump (high volume/pressure if running loose clearances, high pressure if not),
new GM lifter trays if not running link bars,
new lifters,
good quality pushrods,
new cam retainer plate (as mentioned above) and bolts,
new cam chain,
trunnion kit (either CHE bushing or caged needle)
billet barbell (as you mention)

I went with the improved racing barbell and their baffle for the oil pan. Arp main and rod bolts in my current 6.0 build.

Improved Racing Windage tray is cheap and effective. Should yield a HP or two...

Getting rocker wipe pattern as close to perfect as possible by shimming the rocker stands.

I think it helps improve reliability & durability because a good wipe pattern does less side loading on the valve. Ran a heads & cam LS1 set up this way for 100,000 + miles with the h&c package.

i have arp main studs so line bore is definitely happening. And I got the tsp kit pre balanced.

I have yella terra rockers and they have some shims with them. Do you have a video on how to check them with a roller set up you can suggest? Thanks

I'm not up to speed on Yella Terra installation. My comments are probably irrelevant if it's a set of adjustable YT's.

This YT installation material, I've seen.

LS1 - How To - Yella Terra - from 2003

FWIW - my friend that did a set of Jesel roller rockers, said it was a very slow fiddly process, much more so than shimming stock rockers. The wipe patterns ended up ideal etc.

That thread helped me, also having Tony Mamo available on the phone was useful. I have some posts at the end of that thread, one useful thing is that finding shims with a 20mm outer diameter (which is what the YT supplied ones are) was basically impossible for me (n the UK) off the shelf. I had the 10mm bolt upgrade on mine, and M10 shims typically come with a 16mm OD.

Turns out this 16mm OD fits perfectly on top of the rocker pedestal, and so you can get plenty of different thickness shims off the shelf. Apologies for the metric units
