2007 Envoy LH6 AFM Lifter Collapsed and Collateral Damage
I had # 1-cylinder lifter collapse on my 2007 Denali (LH6) and in process of deleting DOD. I cleaned the heads and noticed FOD on the #1- and #7-cylinder chambers? Is this damage related to the lifter collapse or do I have other issues?

FOD= Foreign Object Damage. The damage is on both sides of the quench area of the head. The # 1 and # 7 are practically identical. The collapsed lifter turned sideways and flat spotted the roller, but it was all intact no chunks missing.
Left lifter not normal...col; that's cry out loud

SOME kind of tiny chunks caused the FOD (thanks!), but I doubt from the lifters. Go over the engine with an FTC (fine tooth comb..) for any other damage.
No need to COL more than needed...

Thank you for your input. To prevent more col I best go down deeper. My plan was to delete DOD, new oil pump, lifters, and truck cam from Tick Performance. I was really trying to prevent project creep? I think I will cut oil filter open and see if there are any goodies in there.
