Received a block in trade and not sure if Im completely sol on this one or if this is something that is in un useable condition to rebuild with or is something that is worth being repaired if possible? Thanks in advance
I would think it is okay to use, nothing runs on that part of the cap. Was that the cap at the rear of the block? Looks like someone installed flywheel/flex plate bolts that were too long.

I was thinking the same being everything is pretty snug to the crank once theyre all snugged down to specs. I assumed with a good clean up would be useable but honestly not sure. This is actually the front right side of the block on the back side of the front cap and internal where the cap connects too
As long as it didn't spin the main bearing or wipe out the thrust face it should be fine. Either the crank bent and wiped the block or it broke and did that.

Just have a machine shop check the line bore.
sounds good thanks for the input, either way if it was good it was going to go for a clean up and a cam bearing r and r but ultimately figured Id see if it was a for sure no no of doing anything with before I even went to that step yet. Thanks again
