Tusky... LS2/Z28 build
#21
After delivery of the car and a retune on the previous combo made a 435hp/413 tq at the rear wheels on a hurt shockblock. The combo on top of the LS2 shortblock was a LS3 intake, LS3 heads, and BTR 229/244 cam. This combo was ran with the kooks true dual exhaust before we sold the exhaust on the car.

Now the block is fresh with JE pistons along with some H beam rods.

11.5 compression suggest you want to keep it pump gas friendly so losing the weight gonna be the key to reaching low 10's. That and puitting your foot off in its a_ _ with some power shifting and never lifting.

Ive seen a sbe LS1 run 11.33 @ 124 mph with Fast 102/102, ported 799s with a LS7 clutch on heavish Racestar wheels 17/15s. Formula car. BTR stage 3 cam. Good suspension. 11.33 at 124 on 1.6 60ft....
I could only wonder how much faster that car would be on lighter wheels and a better clutch 🤔
I turned right around and saw a M6 camaro, 408ci with PRC ported L92 heads, L76 intake, 238/254 cam go 11.4 @ 121 mph (1.5 60ft) on Weld RTS wheels. BmR k member etc. Good suspension. This guy was so dissapointed in the 408ci build that he sold the car after trying to get a number out of it.
On paper the 408ci is supposed to stomp the LS1 car but thats not the case.
Moral of the story is cubic inches is something but its not everything.

Car set-up and making it work has as much to do with making a good pass at the track and making those record setting numbers as rwhp does! My car works and it took a while to get it there. Hundreds of passes tweaking the car not the engine. These last posts comparing an ls1 car to a 408 just proves that.

Either way you didn't make a good pass. Further backs up my point. Hard to compare different cars by e.t. when there are to many variables that can affect it especially in a manual car.

Well today we got numbers out the combo. Not only did the car make great power the torque curve is very smooth. Special thanks to ZZRacer and Jon for making the car what it is today. Its go be a blast to drive after a couple more mods. Remember guys im running a factory water pump, a heavy flywheel and not running a underdrive pulley. The whole time during the build... ZZ would the car is go be a torquey combo. His words are true. Almost forgot to mention that ZZ dyno is probably one of the stingiest ones on the east coast.
