I used the sum8715 cam in my 5.3 that I took to 7400 a couple of seasons drag and autocross.

Blew engine due to oiling

And I am currently reusing the same 8715 cam in my 2016 3/4 ton as my one and only daily driver. It's barely noticeable chop, but still slightly there. Almost drives completely stock it seems
What size stall are you running in the truck?

I used a custom Cam Motion cam in my last LS3. 226/234 115+4 with .620 lift on both sides. With ported and milled stock LS3 heads, thinner head gaskets, ported and rod modded intake manifold, ported throttle body, 1.875" long tubes, and full 3" exhaust, it did 500/454 at the wheels (M6 trans in a C6 Vette). It could go up a mild grade in 6th gear at idle speed with no bucking, shaking or surging. About the only time I could get it to misbehave was going down a mild grade at idle speed. If I put another LS3 together, it will have that exact same cam. It slots in there between Summit's Ghost cam and Spin's cam.

I think generally speaking intake duration in the mid 220s and exhaust in the 230s is a good "mild" cam with some chop and a good increase in power, and it won't require a lot of gear for a stick car or a lot of converter for an automatic.

If you go with a 111/112 overlap cam you might want to get some hi flow cats.

My 229/243//112 was fumey until I tuned the injector offset a lot myself.

Stock converter. It bucks a little bit coming toba stop, that is the only issue. Didn't change shift points or any trans tuning, moved up idle 50 rpm and maf tuned. I took the 823's off for another project and threw cathedrals and cathedral intake on and when MAF tuning it was showing the engine is less efficient than before with the vvt and square port

A mind is a terrible thing to lose...and I've lost mine. For my 70th birthday, I thought it would be appropriate to buy myself a present. So, goodbye C6 and hello C8. Been trying to learn its capabilities. I still have a couple of LS engines around. I'll still check in every now and then.
