Default Can you put a Gen III cam into a Gen IV motor?

That would have to be mod #1 on an '05 6pd GTO.

I don't think the cam sensors are in the same place so I'm not quite sure.

I agree, I see no reason why the existing LS series cams wouldn't fit the initial LS2. The displacement on demand versions may have some lobe lift limitations and the eventual rumored three valve version might have some differences (but I even doubt that). As was stated, the LS2 is an improved LS1/LS6, but it is still in the LS series.

The cam sensor is rumored to be in the front. So that would mean that the cam sensor reluctors on the camshaft would be in a different spot. I'm waiting for someone to post some good pics. We need a nice shot of the engine sensors on a C6 engine.

I think that you're right and I'm wrong. I did some searching on Google and here is a good summary from the National Corvette Museum on the LS2 http://www.corvettemuseum.com/specs/...wertrain.shtml. However, I'm sure that Comp, Crane, Lunatti, and everybody else will have cam grinds quickly once the blanks are available with the front-mounted reluctor wheel.

I'm really curious what they might be developing in a truck counter part (like a 6.6 L Stroker with a 4.00" bore and a 4.00" Stroke)

From what I've heard, the 6.6 is being looked at for '06, and possibly in an aluminum block.
