Its the Holden Monaro, Holden is part of GM...what the GTO was based off of. They've been around "Down Under" for a while. If you noticed its almost the same except right hand drive, front and rear bumpers, wheels, and gas door. Oh ya not to mention, they have Versions down there that are what SVT is to Ford. Not to mention the currency exchange rate...$1 here is $1.40 there.

Damn right its a Lion.
Much as alot of people here could care less for what holden does (they offer the best performance bread car line in any GM division.) The pictures of the monaro show us what to expect with the '05 GTO, probley only the front bumper will be different and LHD.
GTO looks good so kiss my ***.

The Monaro is where your GTO comes from. BTW, the cool deal, and what I think looks best is to order the export grill which replaces the lion with a Chevy bowtie emblem. I think that is the way they should be shipping the cars over here.

yes J rod I agree with you on that. I think the GTO should have been called a Lumina SS and shared body parts but with bowties instead of lions.
One of the biggest problems with this car is that its called a GTO, to some people GTO means something. Theirs nothing italian about any goat so explain the connection other then GM stole it from Ferrari. GTO is just an ambigious name like GTP WS6 GT350 GNX. They use it cause it sounds cool.
Monaro actually means something, a high plane or plateau.
