Oh boy, will there be some great parts floating around in a few months. Anyone wondering how they were running 7900rpms with a valvetrain that fits under those stock appearing valve covers?

Not really a C5R. LS7 Joel They are similar in many ways, but definately not a C5R.

Looks like my LS6 motor will be replaced by an LS7.
Any ideas when I'll be able to buy forged internals for the LS7???

it could be a c5r block, but to me looking at that completely motor setup , that could very much be the ls7. correct me i am wrong but the c5r motor didnt have the new style GM throttle body on it and the crazy looking intake..

I've got another pic of the casting number of the block, and it definitely isn't a C5R. It's a crappy pic, but I can see 1257xx4x. That agrees with the numbers published here at the World Challenge site. In the same pic you can also see the 7.0L on the back of the block.

its a different version of the C5R block, its re sleeved and restroked to a 356 or somewhere about there emphasising revs. the 7.0l is from the base C5R block. that may be a new intake manifold, but the C5R already has rectangular ports.
