I think you were looking at a C5R block.
Look at page 40 of the new Car & Driver (Nov.). It has a small story on a GM engineer built 575HP GTO with a 6.4 liter LS7 block from next years Z06. Some people have rough jobs

I cant wait to get ahold of that 7.0 block and stroke it out to the max and go all out on it.If a lot of us are getting 500HP plus out of the LS1 at the crank what do you think a stroked 7.0 L is gonna make? Should be enough to go low 10's , maybe even high 9's NA. Add a 150 shot and your gonna make enough HP to run 8's. Then the trick will be to make the car use all that new found HP and TQ. I can't wait. My next 2 years tax return will be spent on this project

I haven't seen it mentioned in this thread, but a 4.1x bore won't give you 7 liters on a stock ls1 stroke. Its gonna have to have a 4" crank too. So we aren't only getting a GM big bore block but we also get a factory 4" stroker crank.
Factory GM high-flow big valved heads anyone?

Here is a pic of the back of the block, and an enlargement of the casting number:
According to the CTS-vR tech sheet the block's p/n is 12571246; that seems to gel with the pic. This is definitely a different number than the C5R block.

The CTS V in WC was NOT allowed to run the 7 liter.
They are using the LS2 TB. Its more like the LS2 is using the LS7 TB
The "Super V" that is supposed to Debut soon has a 7.0L in it. BUT, SCCA did not want the 7.0L running.
So, they made them destroke it. Cmon people, read the thread before you post.
They are at a 4.150 bore, on a 3.27 stroke. Thats almost 6 liters.
This IS the LS7 block for crying out loud.
As for the cause of the LPE head- They are ported too large, and over time they are weakened, and crack. Not something you would see on a street car, but they supposedly fixed this problem.
