Don't be surprised if the C6 ZO6 has at least 500hp and weighs at least 300lbs less than any of those cars you've listed.

Personally I was a little disapointed that the base C6 "only" has 400hp, that said you all have to keep in mind that even at the same HP rating the Vette is going to be lighter than a GTO/E55/M5/M3/GT-R/S4/CTS-V/C55 etc etc etc. There may be other cars that will make simila or more power, but the Vette is more than a motor.

As for the 7.0 vs. 6.4 debate, 99% of what I've "heard has been "6.4", however this is an actual photo and says "7.0L" Either way the new Z06 is going to be king of the Hill.

BTW, Red Shift just posted new spy pictures of the Corvette Z06

Anyone that has access to cross-reference GM part numbers will be able to see the proof for themselves if they reference teh block/head numbers listed in the CTS-VR specs on SCCA's site......you'll find the 1% to be the of this place.....now where is that guy said he seen numerous ZO6s in person ...LOL

At our mid-year meeting in July (Mahle) one of our new pistons was supposed to be 7.0 L Corvette piston.

98 Fbodies were rated at 305hp for the base model Z's/Trans ams and 320 for SS's/WS6s

GM Powertrain division has that car on display all the time in Motor City. If you can weasel your way in for a tour, you can see all kinds of neat stuff with that Caddy. Overflow for the rad is a rubbermaid container (not a Lexan one either). Reach in and touch as you please. Security is tight, so no photos, but otherwise, look all you want.

Those CTS-VR's might be fast, but they sure don't have that tough C5R look to them do they ?
