Personally I was a little disapointed that the base C6 "only" has 400hp, that said you all have to keep in mind that even at the same HP rating the Vette is going to be lighter than a GTO/E55/M5/M3/GT-R/S4/CTS-V/C55 etc etc etc. There may be other cars that will make simila or more power, but the Vette is more than a motor.
As for the 7.0 vs. 6.4 debate, 99% of what I've "heard has been "6.4", however this is an actual photo and says "7.0L" Either way the new Z06 is going to be king of the Hill.

If my memory serves me well, the 97 C5s were quoted a 345hp, and the 98 fbodies were "quoted" at 325. Other than that, they were the same.
