You can get an extra 100horses out of an LS1 just by staring cross-eyed at it.
That's good **** right there.

I don't understand the LS1. If it is so damn easy to get more power why couldn't the GM engineers deliver it?

Well, insurance would be more, more novice people might kill themselves, and the parts are more likely to break and therefore parts of the drivetrain would have to be beefed up and the cost would be more.

Instead, they deliver something reliable, and each enthusiest can spend the extra cash as they see fit....all while insurance and emissions places think we're driving nice safe stock vehicles. Its a lot better than maxing out some 3.0L engine and giving us that in a car, it'd be a lot harder for us to tweak it then. I like the low output 5.7 idea
