Supposedly there will be a collectors edition making 550hp (possibly sequential paddle shifting), and the base Z07 will make 500hp....heard this from someone supposedly in the know (cant' say who though).
Even all the dealerships I've talked to acknowledge that the car will have a 7.0L motor.

Dealerships dont know ****, they speculate favoring what is most likely to get you to come back and buy something.
Although in Phoenix its possible that information may have been leaked by someone working at the proving grounds.

I'm pretty sure it will be a 7.0L. There have been threads with info and links to info that make it seem that the displacement will be 7.0L. Man, I hope it is...

They are selling the C6 for $45,000 right now in all the places I have seen. So you are probably correct.

If dealers have info on incomming cars, they could very well know that it is a true 7 liter.

a few years back, i was out looking at cars and one of the salesman told me about a new 425hp supercharged saleen and a few months later just like he said the s281-e came out so dealers get it right sometimes. this guy liked to race and had a gn so he wasnt a normal douchebag car salesman either.
all i have to say about the ls7 is the more hp the better.

The 7.0L is correct. There were some photos taken from a guy over at LS2.com a few weeks ago of a motor with 7.0L casted into 2 places on the block. As far as HP goes it's still up in the air but expect it to be close to 500HP.

I agree on the dealers not knowing squat, but I just thought it was interesting that all the ones I've talked to recently know about the 7.0L info as well.
the 500 vs. 550 hp info did NOT come from a dealership
