Hello,

Well, GM doesn't show a part # for a shortblock LS2, yet. It may be in the 2005 GM Performance Parts catalog, but we won't know for another month or two.

There is a longblock; part # 89017654. Price is approximatly $5800 though.

Wow,I hope the short isnt more than 2000,I figure I'll have 500 in bearings, bolts plus 600 machine work.Thats like 3100 for a 364CI short but SDPC sell the 402 short for 3995.00,I guess its not gonna be worth buying my own and doing a 364...

Well...

My guess would be GM will not ever offer a shortblock version. So far the only shortblocks available are the L31 Vortec, ZZ4, 383, 454 HO, 502 HO, and the 572. GM has never really been into shortblocks very much. Looks like they want all of your money!

I wish I had money, that SDPC 402 shortblock is damn temping.

Only other option would be to keep your ears open for any wrecked C6's. And 05 GTO's / SSR's as well.

But...

Once you add shipping ($850.00!!!) it's up to 6100.00!

This is just another damn part # GM left out of thier catalog. I guess that is why they let us add user notes.

Oh well the GMPP catalog will be out soon!
