A factory 4.125 block should be nice and reliable we can hope.

Also it can go 4.150 max

should work well with the 2.2" valves

I wonder if the LS7 will even be available as a "crate motor" type purchase...I'm thinking that to maintain exclusivity, GM may limit the sale to Z06 owners on an "as-needed" basis...you know, the VIN # required system. I have no facts, this is merely pure speculation on my part, just a feeling I have...food for thought or discussion.

If thats any indication I think it will.

I also think the parts will be available too.

I wonder if we'll have to wait till the car is released for the castings and intake.

my guess would be from $10K - $15K. in the SDPC or what catalog its called you can buy a viper motor for less than 15K.

I don't see the titanium components raising the price $10k. They wouldn't have gone with them if each motor cost them 3-4k in titanium-related costs alone....they're gettin a better deal than that.

an LS7 for $10,000 I dont see that being possible for one person to be able to get one and not everyone else, the car isn't even on the lots yet till fall, i doubt they would release any setups before hand. Just hard to believe, thats all.

I've heard $11,000, and a release of the crate version before the car itself is released.

why is everyone saying "TURN KEY MOTOR"???

the LS2-LS7 are push button start, motors

sorry im just being a smart ***..

anyone know how to adapt the fob and push button starter? i wonder what it costs to replace the fob, that would be a bastard to lose. and must be damn expensive, considering you can only go to the dealer for a new one.

I would say around $10k long block, $12-14k complete. The Ti parts add very little. First, this is not aftermarket quality. Look at the size of the balancing pads on the rods. Like a kitchen table on the big end of each rod!

And they ditched the Ti exhaust due to cost. If the muffler was too much, I'm sure the rods weren't.

The LS7 crate motor will be in very short supply for a while. A quick look at aftermarket prices will show that those heads and a 427 setup are going to be a deal at any reasonable price. It may put the hurt on some aftermarket shops though.

$17,995 -- my two cents The C5R block is around $6500, as I recall.

I wonder how much the dry sump system and brackets will be, and if they will fit the LSx series...

My real question is how much I will be making overseas for the seven months. If it is the magic number I will be ordering one up about a month before heading home, if not the 402 stroker is my answer. Luckily for me I go out in late Sept, so all the R&D as well as bugs will be worked out before I come back.

Sorry for bringing this up again, but I have it on good authority that I should revise my estimate...$14,999. Wish this were "Price Is Right".

Under 15K! Like previously stated this isn't a C5R block. I could see it being 20K if it was a C5R block!
