someone said GM has typically been accurate in their ratings. but don't some LS1 cars dyno over 300rwhp stock? obviously they were not talking the old muscle cars days either. . . .69 ZL1. . ."450hp" puttin down close to 500 at the wheels. . .

I believe it as an engine dyno #.That would be 440-450rwhp which is easy enough and pass emmisions.Most of the 408ci motor's we do are 510rwhp+ with much bigger Cams and free flowing exhaust.
I could believe one of those cars getting on a chassis dyno. Whether the numbers are from that type of dyno or not, who's to say.

My stock 02 z06 dynoed 360 on a dynojet with less than 2000 miles. If I put the LS 7 heads, cam, and intake plus headers and a 3 inch exhaust on my car how much hp do you think I would have? I would gain at least 90 to 100 rwhp. That puts me at 450 and if you add 80 cubic inches and only allow 1 hp per cu.in. Well you do the math. This does not even take into consideration the 10 to 20 hp from titanium components. I believe that this is one seriously underated engine.

I think it's definetly quite possible to see around 500 to the wheels out of this motor stock. Though the cam in it is fairly small(230-218????) compared to the cams current 427s(240-250 range) ls1s are using to put down 500-540 to the wheels. You have to also look at the fact the heads flow significantly better than current heads used on 427 ls1s. Not to mention the fact that the heads are using signifcantly larger valves than current ls1 427s and the cam still has comparable lift to current cams used. So it might be reasonable to say that the extra head flow can offset the smaller cam size, just speculation on my behalf. If indeed it does it should be quite interesting seeing that this will give it a comparable power to weight ratio to the ford gt.
500 to the tire would be awsome, but unlikely.
Many 6 speed cars that have 500+ to the tires are at least high 230 duration cam's, fully ported heads, very good exhaust, awsome tune with all the other bolton's.
Throw the same motor in the car without the headers, and other bolton's and your lucky to see 470.
Even if these heads are AWSOME, the cam is a good size 515 still dosen't add up without a custom tune, better exhaust, and more ways to make this car get air.

Rapid put down 553rwhp with a streetable 402 with AFR 225's....with more tuning left to do!
With 25 more cubes, better LS7 12* heads (?), and the lessons learned from the C5R racing program, why couldn't the Z06 make 40 hp less?????
The math is there for an emissions-legal 515rwhp to be possible
