Thanks alot guys. If it looks like fun to you well.........you are right!
We would love to use the small 7 liter against that 8.3 liter Vapor.
6th gear is useless since it is a .5 ratio overdrive and has no place in any car if it wasn't for the CAFE requirements.
5th is usable but only on the very fast tracks where we hit over 160 on the straights.
I always said that "Road Racing is nothing but Drag racing with corners in the way to annoy you". Now you know what I mean. Except we drag race for 50 minutes straight and the officials throw caution flags to line us up again.
And the first "Standing Starts"...Are they great or what? Just like a drag race but where both lanes with 15 cars in each land leave at the same time and we don't stop at the return road.
We head to Atlanta next so if any of you are from the area stop by the race and check the car out. Let us know that you are from LS1Tech and we will give you the tour.
Thanks again guys and see you at the races.
LG
PS, If my son Louis can get the next in car video for next race we can put that one up also.

I was born at the north side of Seneca Lake in Geneva. My first races were at the Glen. I won a World Challenge race there in 1997 and I have had many great races there.
I consider it my home track.
But since NASCAR owns it you will probably never see an SCCA pro race there any time soon.

Wow Lou, great racing. I went out to your shop the other day to get a new pulley, and seeing them put that new C6 back together after working on it was amazing. Not to mention all the badass cars in the garage (couple of white 01 Z06's) and 427's. Badass racing, cant wait to see the next one.

Lou, question for you.....
Now that you have some serious seat time behind the C6 car....on the racetrack, how do you think it compares with the C5? In a cornering/handling/weight distribution/power sense? Overall what do you think the better platform for a race car is? C5 or C6?? I remember before the C6 debuted, there was some speculation as to how it would compare to the C5 being shorter, AND not as wide. What do you think?

I'd assume since it is an scca RACE car that it will not perform anything like a street car. Suspension is probably very stiff and built to corner like a ****. It's apples and oranges Brian

Right now I think it is a better race car. We were worried that the shorter overhang would affect the aero downforce on the car but we just went to the GM wind tunnel and the results were very good.
We are still running the C5 wheel base but we have to change that for 2006. Since this is a transition year the rules makers let us run the shorter wheelbase. I doubt that it will affect the total performance that much though.
The LS2 power is an unknown since they make us run a restrictor plate. We can only wish that they would let us uncork the LS2 engine. It was still good enough for just about 160mph in the Atlanta race (video) at the end of the straight.
Thanks
Lou G

That Video Looks awesome, Are you guys going to be in Mid-Ohio on May 20-22? If you are, I'll see if I can stop by and say hi. That car sound awesome, an I am glad that you are able to do so well against the more funded factory teams. Great Job, and Congrat!
