that should be a good combo. the 4.1 inch stroke "should" produce great low end.

I have one going in the my car next week.

I will post the numbers as soon as I have them

I have a slightly different list of parts, but an Eagle 4.100 crank and it balanced up really nice only slugs needed.

The motor is pretty much done I'm just waiting on my freshened up M6.

They lock up like a solid lifter above 4000rpm adding stability to the valve train. So I hear anyway. Supposed to a few hp up top.

Yes, they will be on the side of the block, but we will have to check for the clearance around my QTP's first.

I'm hoping for the north side of 500rwhp and maybe the torque too!

I'll PM a link to some photo's as the builder is not currently a sponser. hopefully soon though.

rapid is good -- you should have no problem making over 500rwhp. I have a fairly tame 393 and am making over 500, his 402 LS2 makes 525-555 with those heads.

I'm sure it is a good package. However, for over $10k plus installation and brick and brack I would go to a big bore, which unshrouds the valves and gives a further boost to displacement. Up to 4.2" bore can make a 457 (or a 454 or 455).

455 GTO...umm sounds familiar.

That motor could make a pretty fast GTO.

you can get a 402 with the afr 225 right now from texas speed without any core charges for only 6600 don't spend 11000 whatever you do plus installation there are much better prices out there. SDPC has similar prices. 6600 includes a cam installed also. Only main difference is a eagle crank instead of a callies and you could also get the 4.10 eagle crank so for 6600 you can get 412 CI.

The callies crank is much better then the eagle but the difference in price from the engine builders is huge.

What would you think of that combo with a whipple charger on top? I want somethign that is gonnna kick butt but gonna last too. It will be going in my 2002 trans am. Think the aluminum block will be enough for this combo or should you go with the iron block?

An Eagle crank sure isn't a weak link in that engine. The aluminum block is the weakest link. I would run that eagle crank in a 1000 hp turbo motor but I wouldn't run the block at that power. An Iron 6.0l block is cheaper holds a lot more power and weighs about 65 lbs more.

Default Block Strength

The LS2 block will take 1000HP. I have run 4.100 BigBore LS1 blocks to close to 170mph in the 1/4 and it held up for numerous passes and seasons. Of course it had lots of strength options also ( oversized ARP studs, welding, etc).

The LS2 block has nearly a 1/4" of added aluminum around the sleeves, and also siamesed tying them in all together making it very rigid!
