The only Achilles heel the ls7 has

With the lightweight valvetrain/rods and heads that flow a ton, I bet we see 7500 rpm motors that make stupid rwhp.

What do you all think/know about this? The guy drives an 03 Cobra, so I don't know how up to par he is with knowledge of GM performance.
Either he is in denial or he really doesn't have a clue what he is talking about or both.

There is plenty of power hiding in that motor. We have 346's with 500rwhp. Somehow a tame cammed 427 can't make more power? Either way, stock it will smoke that guy's cobra and that apparently doesn't sit well with him.

Did this guy even consider the fact that the phase III ZL1 makes 600hp and is suitable for daily driving?

Default LS7 Z06 aftermarket / modding

I dont want to agree with any mustang owner but I will say this; I dont think anybody really knows what the aftermarket future will hold for the Z06. As a perspective buyer, Im looking at all I can. Even on a car that is pretty much an all out race car with tags, there is definetly room for improvement. Every car has room. This one just has less room. Im sure there are flaws in some engine mapping or intake profiles. Im sure someone will create an even more free-flowing exhaust--one that bypasses the bi-mode mufflers completely and one that is straight trough all the time. But who knows. Well have to see.

Can't you just pull out the fuse and it bypasses it all the time?

Is the LS7 able to be bored / stroked, or is the block at it's limits, like this guy claims?

Here's a few more quotes from this guy:
"A new Z06 is a modded Z06. The car is basically tapped out for horsepower, unless you do small psi forced induction or forged internal/big boost"

"Can you bore out the block anymore??----NO! Can you replace the space age exhaust on the car for under $5000.----NO! Wow, typical Cobra owner. I apologize in advance.

Tell him that we already have forged pistons available for 12.0:1 and 11.0:1. Low compression will be available soon. There are huge gains to be made with a cam. I think there are more gains to be made in the intake and tuning. In the distant future I can see improvements to the head on the exhaust side. Headers are already on the market. The next year is going to be really exciting for the LS7. Tell him that we can get to 655hp for $8400 plus some headers. The LS7 can't be bored/stroked anymore, but there is the LS7x Warhawk block that can get you to 454 cubes.

Sounds like he's skrrrd of 700hp Z06's running around. I seem to get this impression from all Cobra/Mustang fanatics. They are so closed minded. They think the Cobra and Saleen are the cat's-*** and it's not even worth thinking about anything else. Yes, I work for a company that builds GM engines and have always been a GM guy, but I'm not closed-minded. I enjoy all kinds of cars; American muscle, old Mopar, Italian exotics, rare supercars, High-end Japanese imports (VR4's and Supras, not Civics and Del-sols)

For comparison purposes, www.TPIS.com recently delivered to a Camero customer a 427 inch Gen III motor that dynoed at 630 hp on TPIS' Superflow motor dyno. This is a daily driver street car. While it has a big cam, TPIS' #15 (I think), and a cammy idle, the car is very streetable with nice idle characteristics.

There is a rumor that just 5 psi of boost makes over 600 to the tire. That's a 9 second car or damn near, and that's just the beginning.
