Default Most Powerful C6 Zo6? Anyone seen HPE video?

I was wondering if anyone has seen/heard of a cam swap/intake/exhaust 06 zo6 making hp in the deep 500s yet. I saw HPEs video of their cam swap and headers but the car only made like 505rwhp. I thought they were making around 490-500 with just removing the stock filter stuff and putting big headers on. They used a "stage 1" cam. What were the specs on it? I thought even a mild cam would wake that motor up tremendously compared to the conservative junk in there now.

The cam has 5 more degree's of duration than stock, a little more lift, and a 116 lsa. If I recall correctly, the duration is only around 215. Enough to make it lope basically. Once we get a cam in the 230's, 240's, even possibly something 250's, they'll start picking up a lot more power. The car made 456 stock. Gained about 50 rwhp and 60 ft lbs of torque. As we all know, the stock heads flow quite a bit. So with a "real" cam, they'll start moving a lot of air. That'll be great once tuning software is released.. But until then, I'd rather keep them conservative. Who wants to drive something that might not idle, and possibly lean out up top?

Here's that video btw... http://www.horsepowerengineering.com/media/ZO6.wmv

Yeah, just let me figure out how, and I will... My scanner doesn't want to work, so I'll have to figure out how to take a screen shot..

Right you are Chuck...Without a tuning program you can't wring out the HP in the new LS 7...motor is begging for a high 240 or low 250 duration, .600+ lift and a LSA in the 110-112 range. Do that along with a good exhaust system and a custom tune and you are looking at a 125 HP jump..

Oh cool, that's easy enough

Here's the dyno sheet of stock vs cam/headers.

That's impressive considering the size of that cam and without tuning. I bet tuning will net you between 530-540rwhp with that setup, going based off of the gains LPE made with some minor tuning to a stock Z06. Swap in a beefy cam, and get some tuning on that car and I don't see why you couldn't hit 570rwhp...maybe

We didn't put the car on the Mustang dyno, just the dynojet to see the hp results, so no a/f testing was done. However the car cam in with a detonation problem (audible), and left with none at all. So I can't help but think it was plenty conservative with the a/f and timing, as all GM tunes usually are now days..
