Default Computer options to control 58x LS2..

I know I can run a FAST unit but I was sorta hoping to avoid the $1500 price tag..

Any ideas? I could swap the reluctor but that seems like a PITA..

Anyone break the programming on the LS2 58x computer yet?

Thanks..

(btw, this is going in a 68 Camaro)

Well, I was wondering why you need the LS2 cracked? Are you installing a modified LS2 that requires adjustments to the stock tune?

The LS2 Edit that's out is for the 05 24X LS2, not the 06 58X LS2/LS7. It's a completely different ECM.

It gets a little confusing due to some overlap of the 05 ECM being used on some 06 applications that kept the 24X.

In any case, we are hard at work on the 58X stand alone systems which unfortunately, takes some time to pull everything together.

I suppose you need to change the reluctor...but FAST is cool.

Is this the '69 Camaro on your web page? It says you're using an LS1. Did you change your mind? How 'tweaked' will it be?

Contact the folks at HPTuners...I'm pretty sure their LS2 software is complete, they are just waiting on the USB hardware to release it to the general public.

Build an external 24x pickup, and mount the reluctor outside (like on the balancer).

See if you can beta HPT.

Wait on Speartech

I'll PM you with one other option....

BS3 will be ready for sale at the end of month. I have run 58x on the dyno on a mule 346 we built that performed well. Within the next two weeks we will run a actual crate LS7, it is here now getting some small parts made to run.

BS3. The rag won't buy it for testing purposes for articles?

Anything internal or external I would think would need re-balancing.

Oh yeah, Ed Wright and LPE can tune the LS7 PCM itself, so maybe you can pick up that marine SEFI box and get them to tune it.

'69 had and LS1.. that car has a new home..

New car is far more "badass" -- It's the 68 Camaro on the website, gonna be closer to race car.

I can run the marine Delphi box but it is pretty low tech, doesn't even have an OBDII port..

I wonder if LPE can tune an LS2 PCM yet.. hmmm

The magazine does not buy parts. Either parts are donated by manufacturers for use in stories or you buy your own. I guess I could write it off on my taxes. lol

Understood. I was wondering if the stock PCM with a MAFT could get you by. Sounds like you'll need some serious tuning. I assume normally aspirated. Otherwise there'd be a strong argument for a FAST system.

Is there a thread somewhere that details your plans for the build? I'm curious to see what parts you are choosing and what power levels you're after.

Think you could hook me up with a programed 58x computer? I talked with Speed and Performance in Mena and they say they are close to having it cracked as well.

If you can program for an LS7 then you can program for an LS2.. right?

I don't want to go inside the motor (ie, mess with the reluctor) since it would lame up the story to tell people to take apart their new crate motor..
