I love the project, but for the bang/buck I'll keep my LS1/RX7. Under 2700 pounds, great handling... and CHEAP.

If I hit the lottery I might just build an LS7 Solstice though.

The Ecotec engine itself is one BadAss engine, if you dump $6,000 in it for a forged bottom end and a turbo system, it will dyno 400 HP at 22PSI.

Don't worry about the high boost pressure, these engines are nothing like ya'll have seen and they are so easy to work on.

Copy that, I guess we are saying the same thing.. Hahah
Anyway, I like the idea of a 3.5 V6, hell I also thought about the 3.5 inline 5 cylinder from the colorado, but I wanted HUGE power that was N/A, so that was out of the question. The LSx sits two inches further back than the ecotec, which also helps for weight distribution, and the predictablility of the car. Mallets car was very close to 50/50. I think it was stated on the solstice forum that it was very close with a 200lb driver and a half tank of gas, or some odd ball thing like that.

But even as you just said .... spend 10-15g's, and drop a 402ci LS2 in there ..... instead of the 40g's for the mallot package. So in a way, you were saying exactly the same thing I was.

Do you think an ls2 solstice can beat the c6 around the track?

If the solstice was indeed better around a track why doesn't pontiac use it at Lemans, why don't you see it in sebring etc? What sets certain cars up with track records, I find it odd that you could throw in an ls2 into a solstice and have a better car then the vettes or vipers for that matter. It just doesn't seem to make sense. I personally find the idea interesting and rather entertaining, but an ls2 solstice being stronger than a vette as a racer car just seems odd...
