Default Controlling an LS7 with an '01 LS1 PCM

How would I know how to program a 2001, LS1, PCM to run a stock LS7 engine with a 24X reluctor, 85mm MAF and a 90mm cable throttle body using HPtuners or other software? I am a do-it-yourselfer all the way.

I think if you get the reluctor changed and are using a LS1 PCM it would be easy to run and tune. The ususal lS1>LS2 knock sensor MAP stuff and injector wiring but no deal breakers I can think of. You can run a std oil pan with the LS7 pulleys and dampener and LS1 or 2 oil pump.

So, do you think my current program that Ed Wright installed to run my LS1 with a 222/226 @ .050, .570/.570 cam, an LS6 intake, ported throttle body, 85mm MAF, ported 241 heads, aluminum flywheel would run the LS7? How would I know what to change once I got it running?

No,
You would have to completely retune but the PCM should run the LS7.

I know that the PCM will run the engine if I do some harness modifications for the cam sensor, injectors, etc. and install a 24X reluctor, but once I buy HPtuners or some other software how am I going to know where to start with the tuning? Does somebody have the values for the LS7 that I can program in for starters?
I know I can send the PCM to John at Speartech or Ed Wright but I really want to do it myself since I will be able to adjust it if I make modifications down the road.
Does anyone have the information I need?

Thanks, Nate. I'll start a question thread there. I tried to download a 2006 LS7 Corvette binary file from HPtuners website but my computer said I didn't have the program necessary to download it to. What's that??

From reading info on HPTuners website it looks like I have to install their software before I can download binary files from one of the threads on their forums. Sound correct?

A guy on the tuner forum said that I cannot download the LS7 bin. files to an LS1 PCM because the LS7 PCM and LS1 PCM are completely different. I am aware of their differences. So, it sounds like I must find out the values that an LS7 needs to run correctly and them program my PCM with those values. Where do I get those values?

With hp you should be able to just do a compare, to see what's different in the two tunes. Then cut and paste some tables.... go from there!
