OK I will check on my end but I think its a bit of putting your head in the sand. Manufacturers can influence A LOT with regard to their dealer network.

Along with several other folks, I'd like to commend the team at World Products for being honest and shooting straight with the LSx community... I appreciate it.

Don't let the naysayers get you down... issues like what you're talking about happen, and while it sucks, there's just not a lot that you can do about it sometimes.

Keep fightin' the good fight, fellas.

Not sure how it would compare to an ls2 or ls7 block, but its gotta be pretty light. Alot lighter than an iron block, that's for sure.

Tavarez,
Short deck - 92.6 lbs.
Tall deck - 102.8 lbs.
These are machined blocks minus main caps and covers.

Not that it really matters... but it looks like the tall deck, with the main caps and whatnot is probably almost as heavy as the iron block.

What???????????????? The iron block is about 95 lbs over a factory aluminum block. Last time I checked a factory LS alloy block was more than 8 lbs.

Thanks for the update. This isn't the news I wanted to see, but we all know the story.

GET,
Cam choice is up to you builders. First we're offering just blocks and heads, later short block assemblys minus cam, of course.

We're try desperately to see them from machining in late July. Testing for flow and shipping very early Aug.
I'll post what I know when I know something.
Thanks for asking.

Here's some info from an article in Hot Rod Magazine:

The iron version of the Gen III block is approximately 88 pounds heavier than the svelte, 116-pound aluminum block. The iron block is a not-too-shabby 204 pounds, so you’re probably wondering why anyone would run an iron block if the aluminum block is so lightweight.

102.8 lbs for a block is not bad at all, especially one that has the capabilities that this one should have.

James

Thanks for the updates. Unlike many vendors who simply feed you story after story, y'all stepped up to the plate and expalined the situation. So, in my book, props to y'all.

Mfg is tough. You aren't the only one with foundry issues. I've spoken with several folks who have had issues either with scheduling or cost that have driven production/work schedules out into left field.

Thanks for the update...

LT,
A bare LS1X head weighs 27lbs. No spec for others yet.

MerlinPro... These block will retain all the factory covers, cam etc? And on the tall deck, will the intake need spacers or how is the tall deck matched up differently? Stroke limit on the tall deck? Thanks.
