Instead of jumping to the aftermarket you might want to give some thought to using the stock throttle body and GM ECM to run your engine. The GM fly by wire system works great, is very easy to hook up, and the stock throttle body has great driveablilty AND performance!

The other big advantage of staying with the GM setup is the diagnostic capabilities. It's very handy to be able to plug a Tech 2 or any up to date diagnostic tool in to the system and see everything going on. You give all of that up with the aftermarket setups.

We've done over 30 of these systems now and the ones that are up and running are running great! Good power, good street manners, it's a setup that's tough to beat.

Just "food for thought". So many people want to jump to the aftermarket for a controller, and switch over to a throttle cable, when the factory type setup offers so many advantages.

Couldn't have said it better myself John! My stock LS7 fly-by-wire TB set-up with your harness & programming is just as sweet as could be...especially since my car is a daily driver!

Anyone got a picture of the engine (7) with the Dry Sump pump attached - straight on from the front woul be good - just want to check that it is likely going to be too wide for the chassis in this area and then have to use a hot ls2/6

I agree, but then again I've never been a crate-engine type guy... Half the fun is modding it and just waiting for those parts to show up!

... trying to keep this dial-up friendly here... take a look at the links to the pics...

The LS7 has an internal dry sump system as shown in previous pics... externally the differences are minimal and/or offset. Although the LS7 crank has a longer snout it has an offset harmonic balancer that will allow the use of C5/C6 Corvette accessory drive componants. No other GM GENIII/IV based vehicle has an accessory drive bracket system that will line up with the factory LS7 harmonic balancer. There are ways of converting the LS7 to wet sump... but they are time consuming and only add expense to the crate motor... not to mention reluctor wheel differences that require planning and/or changes in how you will tune or the equipment that you will use to manage and tune the engine. You would also need to make room in the engine compartment for a 2 gallon oil tank.
If you know for a fact that the LS7 oil pan will not fit in the chassis of the vehicle you are working with then you might be better off scratch building an LS2 (either stock 6 liter or resleeved to larger bore along with a 4" stroker crank to achieve 7+ liters) if you already have an oil pan in mind that you know for a fact will fit.

dyno info was on this site some time ago. found pictures of engine and hose adapter and dyno at www.ihp.com under gtr kit car info.
I was the customer. Yes, www.ihp.com is the location for more information. Drop me a line if you have any questions. There were a number of other mods, as the intake manifold was spun 180 degrees for a reverse installation in a mid-engine chassis.

The ECU and harness is BigStuff3.
