Casting molds cost money too. Prices will come down when GM sells enough of these blocks, check back in 5 years.

The GM C5-R block is $6K if that makes you feel better

This LS7 combo is amazingly priced, stuff like this would have been $10K only 5-6 years ago.

Damn that is a pretty awesome price.

If I wasn't building my 93 Trans Am i'd be going for this. Maybe in the future.

We are not using the LS7 factory rods because the are not readily available at this time and also we have not had a chance to do any testing with them. Do to these factors, at this time we are going to stay with what we have been using for rods.

Note: Pricing is not that bad on them either. We will have them for around $760.00 a set.

We can build whatever the customer wants but GM has not released the pistons to the public at this time.

what all would be needed to drop this in a c5 z06? say someone has the ls7 shortblock, gets a pair of ls7 heads(btw, do you guys have those yet?), ls7 intake & TB. i'm talking engine mounts, oil pan, engine accessories & misc like oil pump, water pump, thermostat, and so on

This is a killer deal for a 427 shortblock. Granted, it's not cheap, but no Gen III/IV 427 is cheap. Another thing to consider is SDPC engines are built by a machine shop owned by SPDC who builds Pro Stock motors. They know how to build motors. If I'm wrong about that SDPC can correct me, but when I bought my LS2 402 from them in Jan-05 that's what Kris Jones told me.
