Default LS7 427 Short Blocks @ SDPC

As I posted earlier, we have started getting the LS7 blocks in stock so we are going to start production on the 427 short blocks. They will come with the same components that our 402 LS2 comes with including the LS2 front cover, valley cover, timing chain dampener and timing set.

$6295.00 plus shipping.

If you want one, get your order in now so you can be next in line to get a block.

Pardon my ignorance, can this short block be wet sump? Or is it dry sump only since it's a production LS7 block?

I'm guessing it's a similar but different casting. Note that Brian said they would "set it up for wet sump." The LS2 is already wet sump. But perhaps the more knowledgeable will chime in.

What would the price on this be as a complete longblock? LS7 heads, LS7 intake, custom cam etc?

Cheers,
Chris

Are you thinking bare small block? The short block is chock full of goodness. I'd be willing to pay another $1-2K more to replace the Eagle internals w/ some quality Lunati or Callies stuff (billet crank, anyone?).

The block alone is $3,000 or 3100. There is a thread in here just below this one where SDPC announced the pricing for the block.

The LS7 crank has a .883" longer snout for the drysump pump. This moves the balancer forward so you have to use LS7 front brackets.

Ah. So the way you can convert the LS7 block to a Front mounted Oil pump is to use an aftermarket pump. Good info man.

I think I mean its overpriced for the factory to charge $3k for a block that cost minimally more to cast than a LS2....Same block essentially with larger bore...
