Default LS7 Camshaft in a LS2 Engine

I am looking for a camshaft for my LS2 stroker and I was wondering if the LS7 cam would work in my LS2 block that I am building.

I suspect it will fit but not be much of a cam in that is smog legal and the aftermarket cams are really waking up the LS7.

since you have a stroker engine then you really should talk to some of the guys on here and get you one custom ground. they dont charge anymore to do one to your specs and it will be how you want it.some of the sponsors on the right will be glad to help you.

also you could send a message to Patrick G or maybe he will see this thread and help you out on a cam choice.

That cam has no buisness in a 402. It was designed around the higher flow of the LS7 heads and intake and has way to much split for a normal LS headed motor.

We tested it and lost lots of torque in a '05 GTO 6.0L, but picked up maybe 5 hp at peak. Not a good cam choice at all IMO.

Dynamic compression on a smaller motor is really, really bad. Kills torque. Like they said, much better choices out there.
