Dailey Engineering makes the nicest set up I have ever seen for The LSX as well as any other engine out there.. people dont realize that with a true dry sump system you need to build oil pressure in the motor before starting it.We remove the belt and use an electric drill to build pressure and have 2 500w heater probes in the oil tank.. not somethuing you'd wana do all the time...

I thought about that a while back, just not enough thought to ask tho. I was thinking maybe using an accusump, but now that youve cleared that up I see now.

All of those precautions are not necessary, but they are nice to have. I only use an oil heater if the ambient is below 45*F. I prime the system on the initial startup of a fresh powerplant and that is it.

I would have to agree. I pretty certain Ferarris and Lamborghinis have been using dry sump for years on production cars. Also, you could use a accusump in conjunction with a dry sump to prime the system.

slow67, the top flight EXOTICA have been using dry sump systems for a while on the road, but its only just started to come down into the more everyday stuff! the old (996) 911 turbo ran a dry sump system. not sure what type but it was deffinatly dry!

you could use and aqusump to prime the system! all it is is a tank the stores oil under presure. they come with manual and electric vavles. so if you gota manual just before sut off you could open it to fill it full of oil, then close it. then before start up open the vbavle and prime the system, then close it and run as normal!

Chris.

The stock Ls7 system is not doing the job in all out racing, or probably even Autocross. I could write volumes as to why. Check www.drysump.com Over 600 systems sold worldwide, helping LS1 powered race cars stay alive at reasonable Dry Sump System prices. thanks, Gary Armstrong

yeah, but for reliability purposes I would rather have the pump not driven by a belt.
