is that sarcasm or not?

here's the same cam on a 114 LSA (which obviously should be smoother) and it lopes alright in an LS1.

the 18 extra cubes makes THAT big a difference?

Yes you will hear it!! It will have -2 degrees overlap and stock is -20 or -17 if I remember right on the LS2. The extra cubes you are carrying with the LS2 swallow that cam up a little bit better than an ls1 block. A real nice lope is -5 to -10 degrees.

I have a friend who has that exact cam with 918s in a 04 Z06 with headers. Not cranky but it is obvious it has a cam. Nice power band.

Sorry, it wasn't meant to be sarcastic, but I don't think it'll lope that profoundly, you will be able to hear it, but with the -2 degrees of overlap its not going to be a ground pounder. What made you decide on that particular cam?

Driveability over all else.

I don't want it to sound like a T-rex. I just want it to be obvious that it's cammed. Just some chop at idle.

Well, in a 402, you can go much larger and actually have some overlap and it'll still drive perfect with a good tune. That cam is perty small, probably good for 20-30 hp increase over stock, cam only. If this were mine, I would do something along the lines of 235+/240 on a 114 LSA. Good driveability and good power.

Best Regards!

where'd I get a 402?

I'm only looking for about 30 hp. I'd just like to get to about 400 at the wheels. any more than that, I'll be afraid to even punch it for fear of breaking something in the stock driveline.
