Default L92 results?

Has anyone actually finished a build using these heads? If so, what kind of power did it make. I am looking to save a few bucks on my build and I think this may be a good way.

I think most guys are waiting for a factory plastic car style intake to become available. At the moment the only intake available is the truck style for the '07 Escalade.
We'll be working on a CNC program for the heads in the near future. That should help gather some interest with these new heads. I hope to have the program done in time to coincide with the release of the Aussie (car style) intake.

Good luck,

Richard

Richard, do you have the CNC program developed yet, or are you still working on it?

I'm still working on it. I hope to have it ready by the first week in Dec.. Stainless valves won't be readily available until at least then as well.

why wouldn't you stick with the stock valves that come in the heads? are they not big enough?

W2W picked the cam themselves. As some have said before with the big valves and large flow I guess a huge cam isn't as needed maybe as we are used to with other heads, it's all a guess still I'm sure. Billy at W2W told me not to worry, it will fly.

The Howards rods, JE pistons and Callies crank were also W2W's suggested parts. I think the entire rotating asemble cost around $3200 but I don't know the cost of the rods specificly. I just gave them a crate motor and a big check and said make it go fast. We shall see.

EDIT: Actually I expected a 228/234 588/598 cam as that is what I was told it would be but I just found out the other day the cam card in my file there was what I posted in my sig. I was a little disapointed at first but it is what it is. I have a second set of heads I'll get ported when they get figured out and if I really feel the cam is too small I can always change it. I bet it still flys and I should be able to spray into it if needed.

Considering the cost vs performance and durability I prefer to use forged 1 piece stainless steel valves.

Not sure I follow. If your refering to piston/valve interference, there will most likely be less clearance than an OEM valve.

Richard, thanks for figuring out my late night question.

On your heads, will you be seating the valves a little further in the head to make up for the thicker SS valve?

We'll be remachining the seats and therefore lowering them a small amount. I can't tell you what the net amount will be until the valves are available.

Are the SS valves any heavier than a standard valve?

And will titanium or sodium filled valves be available for high RPM use or will the SS valves be fine to 7K RPM?

Sometimes. They usually have more mass at the edge of the valve but may a larger dish in the chamber or a flatter under head angle that will reduce the overall weight. It will be dependant on the valve manufacturer as to the weight of a particular valve. Sorry I can't be more specific here.
