New GMPP LSX Block
Robin L,
So then you are saying this is an LSx based engine and not the new LSt big block?
So this engine block has the same exterior dimensions as a standard LS1/LS2/LS6/LS7 etc.. block but in Iron?
Thank you in advance for the clarification.

It has extra head bolt holes, revised oiling, thicker webs and more material in the cylinder walls.
I should have a formal list of features in a week or so. I will post them as soon as I see them.

Was that other post correct when it stated that the same block will be available in aluminum as well before long?

Something still doesnt sound right. I dont believe the bore could be that big. Have you seen pictures of the LS7 block and how little material there is between the bores? I dont think you could go much bigger than that with the block being longer and wider.

World's contracted customer for Brand X has changed several design parameters which in turn caused tooling changes. The final machining on that project is reaching completion as I write. Machining on several Warhawk prototypes has taken place on a "one-off" basis. (Not yet a production run.)

you know, when you put it together like that, it sounds like World is making a block for GM.... :lmao:

It is iron, and I have seen pictures of an un machined casting. You are correct to assume that the bore is limited due to the LS series bore spacing. There is only so much material between the cylinders. There is however enough to build a 500 inch LSX engine. The more cylinder pressure the more you will want to be consevitive on the bore size.
This is a killer LS series block. It's not intended to be a one off with different bore spacing.
A higher deck versin will follow for those who want a bunch of stroke and a long rod.
World is not making the block for GMPP.
Power adders should be careful about bore size. An NA engine will get away with close to 4.250 I would think. Again when we see them we will know a lot more.
Please don't quote me on the 4.250. It may require offsetting the bores.
More as I hear.
Oh BTW. The carb intake for the LS7 heads is now available. I'll post the part number after I verify it.

At this point GMPP is focused on the Iron LSX block. The aluminum ..IF it happens will be at least a year away.
The market has other people developing aluminum blocks.
The raised deck version of the iron block should be out 3 months after the standard version.
