Pretty cool, I saw the photo and snippet of news about you and the Nova in the latest Chevy High Performance today. Got any pics of the Nova online?

Sounds like a cool project. How did you convince the Ford guys to let you run a Nova with GM power in the NMRA?

Since you are from the Ford racing, what is the chance of Mod VS LS at a NMRA event. Win or lose, it would be good for both.
We are running a local race in Michigan that is open only for Mod, new hemi and LS. If your Nova is ready it would be cool.

4.3" bore thats getting to be old school ZL1 427ci territory they were 4.313" with a 3.365" stroke and a 1.681 rod ratio that's good stuff or you could go crazy and max out the stroke and get all kinds of inches.but to me the best thing is that the LS7 block will become "cheap" still cost some chedda though.
Sorry, but a 4.313 bore with a 3.365 stroke only gets you 393.3 CID. The old 427's were 4.25 bore with a 3.76 stroke, unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying.

There has been talk.....just talk about an LS based heads up class racing. This would be to promote the LS series of engines and components.

My feeling is that it would not happen with the NMRA. While the NMCA would be the natural choice there would be a lot of ground work before anything happened. I just use the NMCA as an example. There are several other series that could be considered.

Really I don't think that GMPP is interested in a Mod Motor VS LS shootout.

It would be better to highlight racers, teams and shops that have supported the LS engines.

I used the Desktop Dyno to get my numbers...... They list 2 427ci one as the ZL1 and then a regular 427. I checked some old books of mine and you're right. But to me that's even better we got a bigger bore than alot of BB available to us when this block comes out and if it comes in Aluminum eventually

Thanks for catching that I hate having and even worse giving bad info.

We had an LS based racing series last year, but we ran into difficulty. It was decided by the staff here to cancel the series for this year. If GMPP were to help out with such a venture, it may enjoy success.

Hi Robin, we met at Cordova a few years back, I have the 98 Formula with the YSi that Kurgan did some work on.

So are you hanging up your spurs with NMRA?

If NMCA got interested in a late model Mod vs LS, maybe throw the Hemi's in there, that would be a good thing. Let me know if me calling you to give you background on the numbers would help.

Very glad to see you here on Tech Robin! I have met you a few times with fellow hot street racer Nick Bacalis.

Just wanted to let you know to keep us postsed as well as I am sure we will probably love to run our LSX cars in the series as well. Take care.

I have had a lot of interest in the 05. I will start talking about selling it after the NMRA Atco race.
Really it would be better to sell it. Since I will be focused on the Nova for the new couple of years.

Robin, a good source told me (read --> rumor?) castings have been sighted. Can you confirm this? What's the status? Do you have any more information yet?

Thanks

Yes, I got pictures of a casting last week. Should be a few more show up next week. All will go through the machining process.

At this point I am not allowed to post the pictures

I keep asking and will post them as soon as I have permission.

Reminds me of Bart of Darkness:

" Lisa: Dad, as you know, we've been swimming, and we've developed a taste for it. We both agree that getting our own pool is the only way to go. Now before you respond, you must understand that your refusal would result in months and months of...
Bart & Lisa: Can we have a pool dad? Can we have a pool dad? Can we have a pool dad? Can we have a pool dad? Can we have a pool dad? Can we have a pool dad?
<Lisa holds up a hand, signaling Bart to stop>
Homer: I understand. Let us celebrate our new arrangement with the adding of chocolate to milk."

MAybe this is being addressed in another forum, but who's making heads for this monster, or will LS7's roll right over and do the trick?

That, and it makes sence that cylinder pressure should be a concern, where does that leave the forced induction guys? Or is this an "all motor, with a bit of nitrous" type of block?
