Default LS2 Lifter Question w/ Pics

I picked up a tray of lifters w/ guides the other day not knowing exactly what they were but thought I would speculate a bit. They look like a typical roller lifter until I compared them to the ones out of an LQ9 I had handy. I ran the part number in the lifter guide which is 12569259, it has been superceeded to 12595365 which is listed as an LS2 lifter guide here . In another thread a while back there was a discussion as to a redesigned lifter for the LS2, pics were to follow but were never posted. So looking at the pictures I have posted.... what are they? Honestly compared to the others I have these look kinda weak. Thanks!

The guides are for a LS2. The lifters are LS1/2/4/6/7 & L92 w/o DOD.... GM has used the same lifter part # for over 10 years in Gen 1, LT1/4, LSX and even in V6 engines. I just verified it in the GM cataloging.

Thanks Brian. I figured they are 01's & up because previous years, the lifters have a different look to them, smoother and more a yellow color

My 2005 actually had those in it when I broke one. The new ones, same part number for an 05, had the rollers completely enclosed.

I got the full inclosed from Advance Auto, They are made by Federal Mogul ,a very nice set of lifter and had no problems at all with them for three years now with a T-Rex cam and high rpm

Thanks for the info guys.... Every set I have pulled from a 6.0 looked like these So does that mean the ones I have pictured and the enclosed one are the same part number? And just for curosity's sake since I have both sets handy and building a 6.0 which set would be stronger, small roller or big?

Maybe look at weight and go with the lighter...both are strong , might have seen a couple of each break in 500 motor builds/teardowns.
